Cullasaja River Mine
Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains, Franklin, NC is rich in gems and minerals and is a favorite spot for rock hounds of all ages. The town is known as the “Gem Capital of the World”; among the native stones found are ruby,sapphire, and garnets just to name a few. Mining for ruby and sapphire began in Franklin in 1870, and to this day gem mining remains a popular activity for both locals and visitors.
We are a mobile gem mine that brings the fun and experience of mining to you.
